Hey I just met you, and this is crazy, but here's our blog, so read it maybe?

Pink Floyd. Luke Bryan. Red Hot Chili Peppers. Passion Pit. Radiohead. Led Zeppelin. Dave Matthews Band. Mumford and Sons. Each of us has our own unique taste in regard to what kind of music we prefer. While Lucas primarily listens to classic rock and cannot stand country music, Maggie favors it. Aaron enjoys music with lively energy. Annah-Claire’s iTunes library consists of mostly alternative music, and she says the best day of her life was spent at a Dave Matthews Concert. Though we are four students all living in the same place, experiencing much of the same things, we each have very different tastes in music. There’s no one thing that determines each of our preferences, yet we each find some sense of identity in the music we listen to. Our own unique tastes influence how we perceive the topics we will be discussing in the same way that they influence our own musical inclinations. In exploring a variety of topics in the sciences, psychology, and the humanities as we blog about our array of interests, we will include a common thread of music through all we are discussing.

Annah-Claire Summerlin is a First-Year college student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is planning to major in Biology and to possibly obtain a minor in Spanish. She recently graduated from Fike High School in Wilson, North Carolina and was in the top ten percent of her class. Annah-Claire won the Principal's Scholarship, the Golden Circle Optimist Club Scholarship, and the Interact with Keywanettes Scholarship. She was a member of the National Honor Society, the Science National Honor Society, Interact with Keywanettes, Student Government Association, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She held leadership positions in all of these except NHS and SNHS. Annah-Claire is an avid tennis player and loves to have fun.

Lucas Seitz currently is a freshman at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is on track to major in biology. He graduated from Heritage High School in Wake Forest, North Carolina in the top 1 percent of his class, and was a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Health Occupation Students of America, and Student Government. He is currently taking an English 105 class and is becoming an expert on how to write in the third person for blogs.

Aaron Wan is a freshman enrolled in the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Originally from the small town of Nashua, NH, he graduated from Green Hope High School in Cary, NC in the top 1% of his class. Aaron has been involved in many sports and extracurricular activities, including cross country, ultimate frisbee, Science Olympiad, and Key Club to name a few. He is interested in pursuing a health sciences track such as pharmacy. Aaron also enjoys reading, hanging out with friends, and learning new things.

Maggie Brownrigg is a freshman Biology major at the University of North Carolina, where she is following the pre-med track and is hopeful to one day work in the medical system. Originally from Dallas, Texas, Maggie now lives in Cincinnati, Ohio and comes to Chapel Hill in hopes of continuing the next chapter of her life. During high school, she was involved in a little of everything, including playing on the varsity soccer and lacrosse team, being involved in the student government, acting as a student service group leader, attaining membership into the National Honor Society, serving over 300 hours, and more. Positivity and being busy and active have always been a part of Maggie’s life, and she is continuing that as she begins to get involved in lots of things here at UNC. Studies are an important part of her life, and as she transitions from high school where she was in the top of her class to the present, she continues to be a very hard worker in not only her studies, but also all the things she is involved in.
