The point of the random parenthesis

We don’t know everything and we acknowledge that. Therefore, we plan to cite all of our sources as we create our blog posts, to show clearly where we obtained our knowledge. We build off of other authors’ writings and want to credit them in order to establish credibility in our writing. In the same way that one artist cannot copy another’s composition, we cannot claim other’s research or information as our own.

We are going to use APA formatting to cite the sources we use, so that you, the reader, can follow our research process and understand where we found the things we are referencing in our blog. We will find most of our information from websites and online sources, so the general format will be as follows:
Author, A. A., & Author, B. B. (Date of publication). Title of article. Title of Journal, volume number.

We think that this style is sufficient because it offers the reader all of the general information, like the title and author, ensures that the information is current (or if it is not, it shows that too), and shows the source it came from, which we want to prove is legitimate and reliable. The APA format is concise and informative, providing you with everything you need to find the original sources yourself. We will refer to our citations in the paper by putting in parenthesis the beginning of the full APA citation so you can match up where we got each piece of information used in our post to it's full citation. So please, be patient with us when you may be annoyed by all of the often distracting parenthesis throughout our writing, we just want to avoid plagiarism, allow you to understand our research, and prove our credibility!
